Effective investigation, recording, and reporting ofnonconformities are an important part of an effectiveSHE programme. RCA is a problem solving process forconducting an investigation into an identified incident,problem, concern or nonconformityRCAis a completely separate process to incidentmanagement and immediate corrective action, althoughthey are often completed in close proximity.This course provides knowledgeand skill to manageincidents, with specific emphasis on the identification ofthe root causes and the RCAM (root cause analysismethod), take corrective action and implement controlmeasures to prevent the reoccurrence of incidents.

The purpose of this Module is to equip participants with an understanding of the learning objectives relating to ISO 45001: 2018. The New ISO Standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems – Requirements, with Guidance for Use.

This course provides all persons who have occupationalhealth and safety responsibilities with the necessarycompetency to demonstrate the application of healthand safety legislation relevant to the duties andresponsibilities of an occupational health and safetyrepresentative (hereinafter referred to as H&S Rep).This course will also enable you to identify, evaluate andrecord health and safety hazards in your designated workarea and to evaluate the risk to operational tasks andprocesses in the work environment.It will also equip you with the necessary competence toconduct inspections and equipment checks in theworkplace, to identify deviations and record the findingsfor submission to the health and safety committee.

This course aims to provide executives, management, directors and all persons involved in the management and control and health, safety and environmental issues in the workplace with an overview, knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities of management in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993 (OHSAct).Note that this course does not provide competence in the application of the requirements of the OHSAct, but only provide the learner with a fundamental understanding of the requirements and the responsibilities of management and other stakeholders in the workplace.
