Recertification:
Each work site will have its own refresher period requirements, please check with the work site where you will be working. Generally, this course is refreshed every 5 years.

Recognition of Prior Learning:

Due to the duration and purpose of this course, Recognition of Prior Learning is not available. Offering RPL would introduce a financial disadvantage and unnecessary administrative complexity which can extend your assessment process and time to be longer than the course duration. To maintain uniform standards and ensure competency in critical safety skills, all Learners are required to complete the full training and assessment. Please contact us for further information.

Who This Course Is For

This course is suitable for those persons working in supervisory roles overseeing and auditing the risk assessment process.

Pre-Requisites:

There are no pre-requisite units of competency for this course, however, we do recommend completing our Site Safety Supervisor S123 course prior to this course.

LLN Requirements:

Language, literacy and numeracy skills are required at a level to read and understand complex Risk Management and Safety procedures, WHS policies, and legislation. This includes the ability to complete risk assessment documents, conduct risk assessment audits and undertake routine hazard identification and analysis. Participants must have the capability to effectively communicate safety requirements and consult with stakeholders.

Participants with a language, literacy and/or numeracy difficulty or other special needs should inform our training support staff prior to enrolling to discuss our support services if required.

Physical Requirements:

There are no physical requirements for this course.

Dress code:

Participants are required to wear clean clothing appropriate for the workplace, and enclosed shoes.

  • Auditing the risk management process and completing records

Assessment:

  • A Theory Assessment with short answer questions
  • A Practical assessment that includes:
    • Planning and preparing for the risk management process
    • Two Risk Assessments
    • Two Risk Assessment Audits
    • Undertaking routine hazard identification and analysis
    • A loss scenario
    • Facilitating the risk management process
