The course also provides an awareness of the correct use of industrial radiation gauges and help to prevent misconceptions associated with the radiation hazards of industrial gauges used on site.
Who This Course Is For
Recommended for Beginners, Technical Assistants and Isolation Officers.
For the competency test, a multi-choice examination will be carried out at the conclusion of the course with an 80% pass required.
It should be noted that even though those who have attended this course should have achieved a good practical understanding of radiation gauges, the Radiation Safety Officer who is listed on the site registration certificate, bears the ultimate responsibility for the supervision of the operations of all devices containing radioactive sources on site.
About this course
The 7 hour Gauge Isolation/Awareness Course is intended to provide a sufficient level of knowledge to enable the operator to comfortably work around fixed radiation gauges and should understand why certain procedures are required to be carried out.
