Who This Course Is For
Operators, Supervisors and Electronics Service Personnel who perform maintenance work and/or carry out alignments or internal adjustments on x-ray analytical equipment or diamond sorting equipment.
About this course
The aim of this course, a pre-requisite to obtaining a licence, is to train persons who intend to perform services on industrial equipment that produces x-ray radiation, in principles of radiation safety. Personnel who perform restricted services are required to hold a licence in compliance with State Legislation.
Area of Industry Served:
Any industrial application using XRF, XRD or diamond sorting equipment.
Upon successful completion of this course, learners:
- Should be able to successfully pass the *Radiological Council’s qualifying examination conducted by SGS Radiation Services
- Will possess the skills and knowledge to safely operate x-ray equipment without sustaining any clinical biological effects and minimise the hazard to themselves, other workers and member of the public
* Please note that the examination is set by and marked by the WA Radiological Council who will directly advise the participant of their mark. Licences are issued only by the WA Radiological Council.
