ESG Awareness

– Environmental, social and governance standards known as ESG, is a framework used to measure the environmental and societal impact of an investment in a company or business. We have seen in recent years increased demand from shareholders and investors for transparency on ESG reporting to assess the value of a company or investment.
– To demonstrate the risks and opportunities in corporations and/or investments, sustainability reporting is a key tool. However, many organizations are still reporting on the bare minimum. This could be for a number of reasons, such as not knowing how to collect data, what to report and expertise on sustainable practices. This can create reputational and regulatory risk, which can impact an organization’s valuations and their bottom line.
– ESG criteria is now being considered as a strategic board issue which delivers on implementing sustainable practices across businesses. This is now being supported by the different regulatory and global initiatives which are embedding these sustainable practices with disclosure requirements.
